If having fun is what excites you in an art installation, Test Pattern [No 5] is the one you will love. In the auditorium of Carriageworks, artist Ryoji Ikeda has created an amazing experience through perfect blend of light, sound and interaction.
While standing, sitting, walking or dancing on the black and white floor patterns created by light projections, one becomes part of the installation. It adds to the interest and the experience. A girl jumping as if she is playing a video game, an elderly dancing not knowing others can see him or a mother and her young one lying on the floor in playful joy – one can enjoy variety of rare emotions.
Tranquillising and soothing, the loud sound and rapidly changing light patterns of the installation has a power of inducing focus. Focus to be a part of the exhibit and to enjoy it to the maximum without any stress.
Test Pattern [No 5] is on at Carriageworks until 1st July 2013. If you are in Sydney, do go and enjoy the magic of the Pattern!
The weekly photo challenge this week talks about ‘The world through your eyes’. The photographs above express the world of Test Pattern [No 5] through my lens.
